Where does Laayo deliver?

Laayo delivers food and groceries in Birtamod and Damak, two towns in Jhapa district in eastern Nepal, and in nearby areas around them. This guide explains how coverage works and how to check your own address.

Does Laayo deliver in Birtamod?#

Yes. Birtamod is where Laayo started, and it is our home town. Restaurants and shops across Birtamod and the surrounding area are on Laayo, delivered by our own riders.

Does Laayo deliver in Damak?#

Yes. Damak has its own Laayo delivery area, with local restaurants and riders who work in Damak.

Does Laayo deliver in Kathmandu?#

Not yet. Kathmandu is the next city we are preparing for, but Laayo does not deliver there today. If someone tells you otherwise, they are mistaken. When Kathmandu goes live, we will say so here and in the app.

How do delivery areas work?#

Laayo divides its service into delivery areas, one for each town and the places around it. Each area has its own restaurants, shops and riders. When you set your location, the app works out which area you are in and shows you the restaurants that can deliver to that exact spot.

Two things decide what you see:

Your pin. Restaurants are shown based on where your delivery pin is, not where your phone happens to be. If you are ordering for a different address, move the pin there first.
Each restaurant’s reach. Every restaurant delivers within a sensible distance of its kitchen, so food arrives fresh. A restaurant on the far side of town may not show up for every address.

How do I check if my address is covered?#

Open the app and set your location to the address you want food delivered to. Then:

If restaurants appear, you are covered. Order as normal.
If the app says the location is outside our service area, we do not deliver there yet.
If only a few restaurants appear, you are probably near the edge of an area. Try moving the pin to the exact gate, as a pin dropped in a field or on a main road can land outside a boundary by mistake.

Why did a restaurant disappear from my list?#

Usually one of three reasons:

It is closed right now. Closed restaurants move out of the main list but still appear in search and on their own page.
Your pin moved. If your saved address or GPS changed, a different set of restaurants may be in reach.
It is not delivering at the moment. Sometimes a restaurant pauses delivery when the kitchen is very busy.
