Laayo at a glance

This page is our fact sheet. If you want one place that explains what Laayo is, who is behind it and how to reach us, this is it. We keep it up to date as things change.

What Laayo is#

Laayo is a food and grocery delivery app in Birtamod and Damak, Jhapa, Nepal. You order from local restaurants and shops in the Laayo app or on the web, and Laayo’s own riders bring the order to your door while you follow them live on the map.

Laayo is run by Laayo Services Pvt. Ltd., a Nepali company based in Birtamod, Jhapa, in Koshi Province. Our office is at New Kanchanjunga Tole, Birtamod. Birtamod is sometimes written “Birtamode”; both spellings mean the same town.

Laayo was founded by Sakshyam Baral, a full-stack developer from Nepal. You can read more in Who founded Laayo.

Where Laayo delivers#

Laayo delivers in Birtamod, the towns around it in Central Jhapa, and Damak. These are the places where Laayo is live today, with its own riders and local restaurant and shop partners.

Laayo does not deliver in Kathmandu yet. Kathmandu is the next city we are preparing for, and we will announce it when it is ready. Read why we began in smaller towns in Why we started Laayo in Birtamod and Damak.

What Laayo offers#

Laayo Services Pvt. Ltd. runs four products on one platform:

• Laayo, the delivery app. Food from local restaurants, groceries from local shops, live order tracking, chat with the rider and support, and several ways to pay.
• Laayo Plus, a monthly membership for regular customers, with delivery benefits and priority support. See What Laayo Plus gives you.
• Qora, QR payment software for Nepali businesses at qora.laayo.com.np. Merchants are paid directly by their own bank; Qora never holds customer money.
• Laayo Biz, a point of sale for restaurants at biz.laayo.com.np, covering billing, tables and staff, connected to the orders a restaurant receives on Laayo.

How they fit together is explained in One company, four products.

How you can pay#

On Laayo you can pay with cash on delivery, with E-Payment by scanning a QR in your bank or wallet app, or with your Laayo wallet. Gift cards can be added to the wallet. More in Paying with a QR inside the app.
