Every shop in Nepal has a QR code on the counter. The hard part is not showing a QR. It is knowing, reliably and right away, that the money has arrived, and connecting that to your bill, your website or your app. That gap is what Qora fills.

What is Qora?#

Qora is a payment platform for Nepali businesses, built by Laayo Services Pvt. Ltd. and shown as “Qora by Laayo”. It lives at qora.laayo.com.np and gives a business three things:

• A merchant dashboard to create payments, see every payment and its status, and manage the account.
• Payment links and counter QR posters for businesses that do not write code.
• A developer API with documentation, for businesses that want payments inside their own website, app or billing system.

Does Qora hold my money?#

No. This is the most important thing to know. When a customer pays a Qora merchant, the money goes from the customer’s bank to the merchant’s own account. Qora never sits in the middle of the money. What Qora provides is the software around the payment: creating the QR, watching for the customer’s payment, confirming it, and telling the merchant’s systems.

Who is Qora for?#

• Shops and counters that want a QR for each bill with a clear “paid” confirmation, instead of asking customers to show their phone screen.
• Businesses that send bills, such as tutors, clinics or service providers, who want to send a payment link to a customer.
• Developers and online businesses that need payment confirmation inside their own app or website.

How does paying with Qora work for a customer?#

1. The customer sees a QR on a screen, a printed poster or a payment link.
2. They scan it with the banking or wallet app they already use.
3. As soon as their app opens the payment, the merchant sees it marked as scanned.
4. When the payment completes, the merchant sees it as paid, and their systems are told automatically.

The customer does not need to install anything new or create an account.

What are payment links and counter QR posters?#

These are for businesses that will never touch an API:

• Payment links are made in the dashboard for a known amount and sent to one customer by message or email.
• Counter QR posters are printable posters for the till. The customer scans, types the amount and pays.

Both show up in the dashboard with their status, just like payments made through the API.

What does Qora offer developers?#

• A REST API to create payments and check their status.
• Signed webhooks, so a merchant’s server is told when a payment succeeds and can check that the message really came from Qora.
• Documentation with a live console, where a developer can use their own key to create a real payment from the docs page and watch it complete.

How does a business sign up?#

A business creates an account, verifies its email and phone number and submits its business details for review. Qora can read the business’s PAN or VAT certificate to fill in the form, so the owner does not have to type everything. Once approved, the business connects its own bank QR account and can start taking payments.

How does Qora make money?#

Qora charges businesses for the software, not for holding money. Plans are shown when a business signs up.
