Ordering groceries on Laayo
Laayo is not only for meals. How the grocery section works, what you can order from local shops, and how grocery orders differ from food orders.
Besides restaurants, Laayo brings you groceries and daily needs from local shops in our delivery areas. This guide explains how the grocery section works.
Does Laayo deliver groceries?#
Yes. Laayo has two sections: Food, for restaurants and cafes, and Grocery, for local shops and stores. Grocery orders are delivered by the same Laayo riders and tracked in the same way as food.
Laayo does not offer medicine, pharmacy or parcel delivery. Food and groceries are what we do.
How do I open the grocery section?#
On the Laayo home screen, switch from Food to Grocery. The app then shows grocery shops that deliver to your pin and their products, grouped by category.
What you can find depends on the shops near you. Typical categories include fresh produce, meat, dairy and eggs, staples like rice, flour and oil, snacks and drinks, and household items.
How is a grocery order different from a food order?#
The basics are the same: add items, check out, pay, and track. A few things are different:
- Products have sizes. Grocery items often come in different weights or pack sizes, so check the size before adding.
- Items can run out. A shop may be out of something on the shelf even if it shows in the app. At checkout you can tell us what to do if an item is unavailable, for example to skip it or to call you.
- One shop per order. Each grocery order comes from one shop, so the shopkeeper can pack everything together.
- Shop hours apply. Like restaurants, shops have opening hours, and you can only order while a shop is open.
Is the grocery section changing?#
Yes. A new grocery design is rolling out, with category tabs at the top, aisle pages with a side menu of sub-categories, larger product cards and product pages with more detail. It also brings a “buy again” row with things you ordered before. The way you order and pay stays the same.
Can I pay for groceries the same way as food?#
Yes. Grocery orders accept the same payment methods: cash on delivery, E-Payment by QR, and the Laayo wallet. See How to pay on Laayo.
I run a shop. Can I sell on Laayo?#
Yes. Local shops and grocery stores can join Laayo as partners, the same way restaurants do. Read Joining Laayo as a restaurant partner for how sign-up works, or contact us at [email protected].

Each grocery order comes from one shop. Place a separate order for each shop.
