Privacy and your data at Laayo, in plain words
A friendly summary of how Laayo handles your information when you order, pay, track and chat, and where to find the official privacy policy.
Laayo is a food and grocery delivery app in Birtamod and Damak, Jhapa, run by Laayo Services Pvt. Ltd. To bring you food, we need some information about you, such as where to deliver and how to reach you. This post explains, in plain words, what that looks like in practice.
This is a summary, not the legal text. Laayo’s official policy is the Privacy policy on laayo.com.np, which is what applies.
What Laayo needs and why#
To deliver an order, Laayo needs:
- Your name and phone number, so the restaurant and the rider know who the order is for and can reach you.
- Your delivery address and map pin, so the rider can find your door. You choose and confirm the pin yourself; the app does not guess it for you. See Picking the right address pin.
- Your order, so the restaurant can prepare it and you can see it again in your history.
- How you paid, so we can confirm the payment and handle refunds.
Some things are optional, such as an email address, an accessibility profile or a “for you” rating based on your taste. You can use Laayo without them.
Payments#
When you pay by E-Payment, you scan a QR code and approve the payment in your own bank or wallet app. Laayo does not ask for or store your card number or your bank login. The same principle applies to Qora, Laayo’s QR payment software for businesses: merchants are paid directly by their own bank, and Qora never holds customer money. See Paying with a QR inside the app.
Live tracking and sharing#
When your order is on its way, you can see the rider on the map. The rider’s position appears only once your food has been picked up. Before that, tracking shows the order’s progress, not anyone’s location.
If you share your tracking link, the person you send it to sees that one order’s status and, once it is on its way, the rider on the map. The link shows no name, no phone number and no order history, and it cannot be guessed. See Share your order tracking.
Riders and restaurants see only what they need#
- Restaurants see what you ordered and the notes you added for the kitchen.
- Riders see what they need to deliver: the pickup, your delivery location and how to contact you about the order.
- If you choose to share an accessibility need, only the rider delivering your order sees a short card about it. Restaurants do not. See Designing for everyone.
Chat and support#
Order chat keeps the conversation about one order in one place. Support conversations are seen by Laayo’s support team so they can help you. When an AI assistant answers first in support chat, it works with what the task needs, and it hands the chat to a person whenever needed. See How Laayo uses AI.
Crash reports#
When the Laayo app crashes, it sends a technical report so our engineers can fix the problem. These reports are set up to leave out personal details: screenshots are turned off, and things like email addresses and phone numbers are masked before a report is stored. See Laayo’s tech stack, part five.
Messages from Laayo#
Laayo sends notifications about your orders, and sometimes suggestions or offers. We try to keep them useful and limited. You can control notifications in your phone’s settings.
Deleting your account#
You can ask Laayo to delete your account at any time from laayo.com.np/delete-account.

Quick answers#
Does Laayo store my card details?#
No. With E-Payment you approve the payment in your own bank or wallet app by scanning a QR code. Laayo does not ask for or store card numbers or bank logins.
Who can see my location when I order?#
The rider delivering your order sees your delivery location. If you share a tracking link, the person you send it to sees that order’s status and, once it is on its way, the rider on the map.
Does a shared tracking link show my phone number?#
No. A shared tracking link shows one order’s status only, with no name, phone number or order history.
Where is Laayo’s privacy policy?#
