What Laayo values, and how it shows up in the app
Six values that guide how Laayo works, each tied to real decisions in the product, from honest delivery times to partners paid on time.
Laayo is a food and grocery delivery app from Birtamod, Jhapa, run by Laayo Services Pvt. Ltd. Every company says it has values. We would rather show you where ours appear in the product, so you can judge them for yourself.
Small towns first#
We started in Birtamod and Damak, not in the capital, because people in smaller towns deserve the same convenience as anyone else, built for how their town actually works. That is why Laayo understands landmark addresses, plans for monsoon roads and works with local kitchens that had never been online before.
Where you see it: Why we started Laayo in Birtamod and Damak, Riding through the monsoon, We started small on purpose.
Honesty, especially about time#
A delivery time is a promise. We would rather show an honest range than a hopeful one, and tell you when an order is running late instead of letting the number silently slip. Honesty also means saying “rolling out” when a feature is not finished, here on this blog and in the app.
Where you see it: How we estimate when your food will arrive, Loading without lying, When a store shows as open or closed.
Partners and riders are paid on time#
Restaurants and riders do the hard work. They should never have to chase their money. We built clear payout statements, confirmation calls and earnings screens so everyone can see what they earned and when it arrives.
Where you see it: Getting paid on time as a partner, How riders earn at Laayo, Tipping your rider.
Calm by design#
An app you use when you are hungry should never shout at you. Laayo uses two colours, one typeface, gentle motion and calm haptics. It shows real content as soon as it can, and it does not flash things on screen only to take them away.
Where you see it: Designing Laayo in yellow, Motion that feels native, One restaurant card, everywhere.
Own the technology#
When something touches your order, your payment or your delivery, we want to be able to fix it the same day. So Laayo builds and runs its own apps and systems. That choice also keeps us lean.
Where you see it: Laayo’s tech stack series, Building lean.
Safety and dignity#
Riders work on real roads in real weather. Customers share their addresses and phone numbers. We design with both in mind: riders say when it is raining, not a weather app; tracking shows a rider only once food is on its way; accessibility needs are shared only with the rider who needs to know; and a person is always reachable in support.
Where you see it: Riding through the monsoon, Privacy and your data at Laayo, Designing for everyone, Support calls that reach a human.
How we use these values#
When a decision is hard, we ask which choice better fits these six. Sometimes that means building something slower but more honest, or saying no to a feature that would look good but make the app noisier. If you think we are falling short, tell us at [email protected]. We read it.
